Beclomethasone dipropionate
Indications/Uses
Prophylaxis & treatment of perennial & seasonal allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >6 yr 2 applications into each nostril twice daily or 1 application into each nostril 3-4 times daily. Max: 8 puff (400 mcg).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Systemic effects with nasal corticosteroids have been reported, particularly at high doses for prolonged periods. Nasal & paranasal sinus infection; care must be taken while transferring patients from systemic steroid treatment to Beconase if there is any reason to suppose that their adrenal function is impaired. Abnormally heavy challenge of summer allergens may make additional therapy necessary. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Unpleasant taste & smell, epistaxis, dryness & irritation of nose & throat.
